Write, Draw, Think, and Sing
Hello, stalky readers. When you open the link to my blog, you gotta admit that you stalk me, somewhere, somehow. But that's okay, though, I deeply reckon that "blogging" is not 'in' anymore. Or at least it's not 'in' where I come from. But I'm gonna keep the writing spirit and continue blogging. So, thanks for clicking the link, Fox :)
For the past few years (very few, I think it's just a couple of years), my interest in writing on my blog keeps lingering. And somehow, I think this is really bad, because, you know, I keep my creativity out on my blog. Like when I was in my middle through high school, blogging is always a new thing. Everyday I feel that way. That makes me sad, knowing I don't have time to blog anymore, it means I can't make something new. I feel something rots inside me. I can't even remember the last time I pick up a pencil and draw. It's THAT bad. I forget how to draw :'( I consider this is my own fault, not trying to get something new everyday like I used to. So, from now on, I'm gonna start blogging again. So the creativity will come out and I can make something cool again.
To help me with the vibe, let's just pretend that it's my first blog post. Then, I have to introduce myself again. Officially.
"Hello, Fox. My name is Indraswari Pangestu and I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm 20 years old and currently in love in reading books. I go to Universitas Indonesia, Faculty of Humanity, and taking a focus on Indonesian Studies (some of you call it "Indonesian Literature"), majoring Linguistics and Literature. I'm a freelance designer and have worked with several clients and events (freely and paid), I'll give you the list of my selected clients at the very end of this post below, so hopefully you'll work with me someday o:) You may have known me from several events too, like Love and Play Mixtape or a blog post called "Sulutan Api di Bumi Mahakam", yeah, that's just me, featured in events.
I have big dreams like everybody else. Like I want to work in DC Comics, or live in Boston, or do a world trip and end it with United Kingdom, or I want to be a cool polyglot and read books in many translations, or I want to be a mightier writer than Ernest Hemingway, Haruki Murakami, and Edgar Allan Poe. That's just big dreams, big dreams. I might be slightly idealistic, but I'm actually very very very realistic. What makes me different from anybody else with big dream is, I'm the daughter of Gods and Goddesses. Yep. Try to beat that, Fox. That's how confident and cool I am. No, actually, I'm surrounded by cool people that willingly want to help me. It's, now, my time to help those Gods and Goddesses. I'm gonna be a cool heroine :)
It's nice to meet you, Fox."
Oh, how I miss that look. That's my theatrical acting debut, but not the first time I've been in a theatre production. I surely wanted to become one after seeing Laskar Pelangi: The Musical. How shallow. It's never that easy to be in a theatre play. Now, I have a very short hair, wanting to look like Agyness Deyn. But keep forgetting that I have a wavy, curly hair XD but I still look cool. I always look cool. Okay.
So, now, to keep the vibe going on, I also made changes through my post labels. On the left side of this blog, you'll see widgets. The post labels are the one I call 直子さん の 道 (Naoko-san no michi, 'Ways of Naoko'). I don't know if it's the correct writing or not, if it's not, then feel free to tell me :) I take Naoko from Norwegian Wood (by Haruki Murakami) as a tribute. I just want to make the labels sound interesting so I made it to look like paths. There are four labels on this blog: Northwrite Avenue, Westdraw Boulevard, Eastthink High, and Southsing Street.
NORTHWRITE AVENUE
I keep all of my writings in Northwrite Avenue. Literature pieces like poems, fictions, even reviews and travel journal will be kept in this one. As a student of Indonesian Studies, I feel like it's my duty to keep on writing literature. It doesn’t matter if I write it in English or Indonesian, I feel like I have to write. Reviews are something that I rarely do. When I finish a book, I surely have a lot to say, but that's it. I just never write my critics. So, I'm gonna start writing reviews. Then, travel journal is also new for me too. That one looks 'in' nowadays, so I'm gonna try to write about my travels too. Even though I'm not a constant traveler. So, if you're curious about my writings, feel free to click Northwrite Avenue :)
WESTDRAW BOULEVARD
This is where my portfolio at. All about art, designs, and drawings, I keep it here. I'm always asked to make something-something for events, especially campus events that require free designs. It's okay for me to do something freely, Fox. But, I gotta be honest. I need money nowadays. Like for real, I'm not kidding. I want to continue study, to a post-graduate program. I can't rely on my parents no more. I start to save my money radically. So, if you Fox have something in mind, to help me and to help yourselves, if you like my designs and drawings, please contact me. I'll let you pay as much as you can, I'm very open. One of my lecturer always tell the students, "Don't take people's money from the thing you love. The money will come by the time it wants to come". This keeps me positive :) I put my LINE ID and e-mail up on the widget, contact me whenever you want. And, oh, don't forget to check my portfolio on Westdraw Boulevard before you contact.
EASTTHINK HIGH
I sometimes have something rad in my mind, and I obviously cannot control it. Posting those thoughts on my blog helped me a lot. My shoulders feel lighter. I gotta admit, some of my thoughts might sound shallow and big at the same time. That's just how my head's going on, really, I can't stop it. Besides, I think it's nice for an individual to think that much, especially us, in a country that can't systematically think about anything. Ever wondered why there's no thinker from tropical countries? Yeah. Let's start thinking about anything. The smaller it gets, the wiser you'll be. Littlest things have the biggest power.
SOUTHSING STREET
Yeeeuuppp, I can't lie that I still love to sing and play guitar. Even though I hardly touch Greta, Cassidy, Jude, and Bob no more. Those are my guitars' names. Southsing Street is where I keep my music on. I promise I'll post my YouTube videos and Soundcloud here. You just gotta be patient. I used to actively play in bands. I'm looking forward to create another band, though. The one that will constantly practice every week and get gigs and record something for real. I want to be the singer. It's okay if I have to sing and play guitar or bass at the same time. I just want to sing.
So, Fox, those are the good vibes to keep me write on my blog. Please kindly help me by reading it constantly. I'll post constantly too. Blogger never die (I know this sounds cheesy) . Cheers.
